Mentorship Program Guidelines

The North Dakota Occupational Therapy Association (NDOTA) is proud to offer a mentorship program designed to support the professional growth and development of our members. This program is a testament to our commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive community for occupational therapy professionals. As we embark on this journey together, there are a few key points we'd like to share about the program:

**Commitment and Availability:**

- **Volunteer Time:** All NDOTA Board Members participating as mentors in this program are volunteering their time, committing to 1.5 hours per month for a duration of one year. This dedication is a significant contribution to the mentorship program's success and to the professional development of our members.

- **Meeting Arrangements:** Each mentor will arrange meetings based on their own availability. We ask for flexibility and understanding from mentees, as our mentors are balancing their commitment to this program with professional and personal responsibilities.

- **Mentee Capacity:** Due to the personalized nature of this mentorship experience, each Board Member can accept only a limited number of mentees per year. This means that while we will make every effort to accommodate your preferences, you may not be assigned to your "preferred" mentor.

**Expectations for Interaction:**

- **Respect and Professionalism:** All NDOTA Board Members are to be treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. We foster a culture of mutual respect, learning, and professional growth. It is imperative that all interactions within this mentorship program reflect these values.

- **Engagement:** We encourage active engagement and open communication between mentors and mentees. This is a collaborative relationship aimed at achieving personal and professional growth objectives.

**Application and Matching Process:**

- Please be aware that matching is subject to the availability of mentors and the specific needs of mentees. Our goal is to create the most beneficial pairings for both parties involved.
